Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP

After the Dalai Lama delivered a lecture, a member of the audience asked him what the answer to world hunger is. He responded, “Sharing.”

Today 37 million Americans live in a state of poverty, hunger and hardship. That’s more than last year. More than ever before. But working together, we can reverse the trend. By joining with those in need, we can change the picture of poverty to one of hope. Ending hunger ultimately requires broader efforts to reduce poverty in America through decent, good-paying jobs. Toward that end, PHP supports living wage campaigns and Let Justice Roll. Learn more about Let Justice Roll and educate yourself and people in your congregation through the resources available through PHP.

Take action by praying: Pray for…

  • God’s help for hungry people in the US and around the world
  • God’s wisdom and strength for those who reach out with food, encouragement, support and advocacy
  • God’s guidance for legislators who pass laws, approve programs, and appropriate funds affecting hungry people
  • God’s guidance for all who work for peace, so that fear of violence will no longer keep peasant farmers from their fields
  • God’s blessing on the church’s hunger ministries
